Ellen brings warmth, experience, and a genuine passion for client-focused care to her role as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice and Master of Nursing in Family Practice from Georgetown University and began her career in 1985 as a critical care nurse. Over the years, she’s worked in hospitals including Hamilton General and shared her knowledge teaching Critical Care Pathophysiology at Conestoga College.

From 2014 to 2025, Ellen cared for clients in underserved communities in Tampa Bay, Florida. She also teaches at Nova Southeastern University in Clearwater, where she’s an adjunct faculty member for courses such as Advanced Health Assessment and Women’s Health.

Now back in the Kitchener-Waterloo community, Ellen is excited to be a part of the CARESPACE team! She’s combining her background in nursing with her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Waterloo through research on how visual art therapy can help with hypertension.

Ellen believes there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to health care. She works closely with each client to create a personalized, evidence-based plan to help them reach their goals; whether that’s improving blood pressure, training for an event, or simply feeling their best.

Dr. Katarina Klassen is a chiropractor who graduated Summa Cum Laude from Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. Her education at CMCC allowed her to gain in-depth knowledge of conditions affecting the neuromuscoluoskeletal system and provided her with tools to appropriately manage these conditions. Prior to attending CMCC, she graduated with honours from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. As an evidence-based practitioner, Dr. Klassen will ensure that she provides a thorough examination leading to a diagnosis and an appropriate treatment plan in the patient’s best interest.
